Our Impact
Key accomplishments include:
• Registered more than 1,000 students to vote through nonpartisan civic engagement and voter education initiatives.
• Mentored more than 100 K-8 students in STEM, robotics, leadership development, and educational enrichment programs.
• Received “Program of the Year” recognition at Florida A&M University for the organization’s community gardening initiative.
• Mobilized more than 500 student volunteers through community service and sustainability efforts.
• Developed a community garden initiative whose harvests help feed students through the FAMU Food Pantry.
• Helped support student entrepreneurship, financial literacy education, and youth leadership development.
• Created networking and outreach opportunities connecting students to Historically Black Colleges and Universities nationwide.
Through community-driven programming and student leadership, HBCU Inc. continues to expand its impact by promoting environmental awareness, food security, educational access, civic participation, and economic empowerment.
Our Vision
One day, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will become economically sustainable, politically engaged, and community-centered safe havens driven by the unity, leadership, and cooperation of young people. Helping Black Communities Unite Inc. is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to self-empowerment, leadership development, education, and sustainable community impact.
Our mission is to uplift and unify students at HBCUs and underserved communities by creating opportunities centered around mentorship, economic empowerment, civic engagement, sustainability, and service. We believe meaningful change is possible through collective action, honest conversations, and the development of sustainable systems that improve the quality of life within our communities.
