Established by Black Americans from Chicago, the community began its migration to the Holy Land in 1969. Many early members were HBCU students and alumni. Today, the Village of Peace in Dimona is one of the largest African American communities outside the U.S. and is known for its vegan lifestyle and dozens of plant-based products.

Helping Black Communities Unite Inc. has established a fruitful partnership with the community to bring HBCU students to experience the New World Passover Festival in May, while building bridges between education, agriculture, culture, and economic opportunity.
